‘We need fittest fans, stay at home if unwell’ – Kompany rallies Bayern fans ahead of UCL second leg

Vincent Kompany has issued a direct appeal to Bayern Munich supporters ahead of their decisive UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg, urging maximum intensity from the stands as they attempt to overturn a deficit against Paris Saint-Germain.
Bayern trail 5-4 following a record-breaking first leg in Paris, but the focus has now shifted to the return fixture at the Allianz Arena, where Kompany believes fan energy could prove decisive.
Kompany delivers unusual fan directive
In a strongly worded message, the Bayern head coach called on supporters to ensure the stadium atmosphere matches the magnitude of the occasion.
“I have one request,” Kompany said. “If someone has bought a ticket and isn’t feeling well on the day of the match, please stay home and give your ticket to the fittest person they can find.”

“We need the fittest people to deliver the full force of the Allianz Arena.”
The message is timely as Bayern prepare for a high-stakes encounter that will determine their place in the final.
Focus shifts to home advantage
Despite the first-leg defeat, Kompany remains confident his side can respond, pointing to their attacking output away from home as a key indicator.
“We scored four goals away in Paris. We can score goals, and we’ll be able to do that at home, too. The belief and the feeling are 100 percent there,” he said.
The former Manchester City defender emphasised that Bayern’s objective is straightforward, with no need for overcomplication.
“All that’s required of us is that we win the game,” Kompany added.
