“We lead and they follow” – Netizens react as Nigerian soldier shares video with US Army team
Reactions have trailed a video showcasing a Nigerian soldier doing a video selfie with the US military team who recently arrived the country to assist in tackling insurgency.
Recall that on February 3, 2026, U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) confirmed that a “small team” of U.S. military specialists has been dispatched to Nigeria.
This marked the first official acknowledgment of American forces operating on the ground in several years.

In a video uploaded on X by a netizen identified as @Pressman2040, a Nigerian soldier was seen doing a video selfie with some of the American soldiers who recently arrived the country.
