‘We hope to continue winning’ – Nnadozie delighted with Super Falcons win over Tunisia

Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has expressed her delight after Nigeria’s 3-0 win over Tunisia in their opening Group B fixture at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The victory marks Nigeria’s first opening match win at WAFCON since the 2016 edition in Ghana.
Nnadozie, who now plies her trade with Brighton, had little to do between the sticks thanks to a strong defensive performance from her teammates.
However, the 24-year-old stood out with her ball distribution and command of the area.
Speaking after the game, Nnadozie commended both her side’s performance and the efforts of the Tunisian team.
“I feel so good, it was a good one, a good beginning for us,” she said.
“The Tunisians are not a bad side, we respect them so much, they played a very good game but today was for us and we hope to continue like this.”
The clean sheet marked her 22nd appearance for the Super Falcons, as the side prepare to face Botswana in their second group game on Wednesday.
