“We don tire” — Mother cries out as teacher givers her child 6 assignments daily

A Lagos mother has sparked widespread debate after raising alarm over what she described as excessive homework given to her five-year-old child.

In a viral TikTok video, the visibly distressed woman appealed to authorities, saying the volume of assignments was becoming unbearable for both parents and children.

“We Don Tire” — Mum Laments

Speaking in the emotional video, she said her child receives as many as six assignments daily, alongside additional projects.

She said: “The assignment is becoming too much. We don tire. We are getting six assignments every single day. I just finished doing projects for my five-year-old.

“At this point, the project is like oil company projects. What is the problem? Abeg, make una help us. Lagos State government, look into it.”

According to her, the workload is not only stressful but also unrealistic for children of that age.

She explained that after spending long hours in school, pupils are still expected to complete multiple assignments at home, leaving them with little time to rest.

They wake up by six, stay in school till four or two, come back and still do assignments.

“Sleep and wake up again. What is going to happen? Six assignments every day. A child I gave birth to in 2020, and you’re giving seven assignments?” she added.
