“We decided to sell the only land”- Lady shares heartbreaking account after transferring ₦6.5M to boyfriend’s account
A young Nigerian lady has shared a heartbreaking encounter of being duped by her boyfriend after transferring ₦6.5 million to his bank account.
According to the lady, identified with the TikTok handle, @mimi, she raised the money after selling a piece of land inherited from her late mother.
Lady Shares Heartbreaking Encounter
In her post, she shared that after selling the land, her boyfriend of 3 years suggested using the money to prepare for his overseas visa, and she complied because of the love she had for him.
According to the lady with 6 siblings, she sold the land because of their financial struggles.
However, they went to the bank and transferred the money to her boyfriend’s account, who gave her ₦150,000 to buy foodstuffs for her siblings.
”He made a transfer from my account to his account and gave me N150k to use and buy foodstuffs for my siblings”, The post reads in part.
Eventually, her boyfriend’s close friends informed her that he had deceived her about traveling overseas and showed her a photo of him with his ex-girlfriend.
”He claimed to broke up with 3 years ago before we met. At this point I didn’t even dissapoint myself but my late mum will not be happy with me and my siblings”, The lady stated while emphasizing her regret over the decision.

We sold the land 6.5m… My boyfriend came up with a plan that he should use the money and prepare his peepers( visa) that once he make it over there that we won’t be broke for the rest of our lives, because of the love I had for him and we’ve dated for 3 years now So I trusted him with the money, we went to the bank and he made a transfer from my acc to his acc and gave me 150k to use and buy food stuff for my siblings.. my own love of my life duped me 6.5m He lied to me and made me believe that he was going to travel outside country to better our lives. Now have been calling him not reachable he blocked me everywhere. Some of his close friends that I used to cook for with my money said he didn’t travel outside country that he lied to me.
