“We are going to declare war” — Gov. Bala Muhammad blasts Tinubu over attacks on opposition

The Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has launched a strong attack on the federal government led by President Bola Tinubu, accusing it of using state institutions to intimidate opposition figures.
His remarks have added fresh tension to the already heated political atmosphere, with opposition leaders raising concerns over alleged pressure and alleged forced defections ahead of future political alignments.
According to the governor, some federal agencies are being weaponised against politicians who refuse to align with the ruling party.
Allegations of Political Intimidation
Speaking strongly, Bala Mohammed accused the administration of the All Progressives Congress of allegedly deploying institutions such as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to target opposition members.
He said: “The APC-led federal government thinks they can use the courts, the institution of government like the EFCC, to persecute and prosecute Nigerians that are not within their own party.
If they don’t stop, we are going to declare war. I assure you we are not going to keep quiet any longer.
I won’t allow anybody to criminalize me because I’m not in their party. And I refuse to join their party. And I will not join their party.”
The governor insisted that opposition politicians are being unfairly treated simply because they have refused to defect to the ruling party.
