WAFCON: Morocco coach vows to stop Super Falcons

Morocco’s head coach Jorge Vilda has vowed that his side will give everything to stop Nigeria’s Super Falcons from making historic 10th WAFCON claim.
The Super Falcons are aiming for a victory that would make them the most successful national team in women’s football globally, surpassing the current joint record of nine continental titles shared with China and the United States.
Recall Nigeria secured their spot in the final with a 2-1 win over defending champions South Africa, while Morocco edged Ghana in a penalty shootout to book their place in front of a home crowd.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Vilda acknowledged Nigeria’s quality and experience, describing them as a team with strong physical and technical abilities.
“Nigeria has a very high level. They are physically strong and technically diverse, with players who have experience at the highest levels,” the Spanish coach said.
However, Vilda emphasized that the Atlas Lionesses are focused on writing their own chapter of history on home soil.
“We play at home. We play with our fans. Our players are full of desire and enthusiasm to make history,” he said. “This is a final. We are here to win.”
Morocco, who are aiming for their first-ever WAFCON title, will rely on home support to halt Nigeria’s “Mission X” and deny the West African giants a landmark triumph.
