Viral video shows moment female students strip classmate naked in Benue
A shocking video has gone viral on social media, showing a group of secondary school girls in Benue State stripping one of their classmates naked and harassing her while she cries and tries to cover herself.
The footage, posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday by the account #mobilisingniger, appears to capture at least five to ten girls in school uniforms—bright pink tops and dark skirts—ganging up on the victim at what’s believed to be Seat of Wisdom Secondary School in Aliade.
They’re seen pulling at her clothes, tearing off her skirt, and leaving her exposed as she struggles desperately.
Some of the girls are laughing and dragging her around, while a male student stands by watching without stepping in, and someone else films the whole humiliating scene.
The exact school and full details haven’t been officially confirmed by authorities yet, but the video has sparked massive outrage across Nigeria.
People are calling out the Benue State Government, the state police command, and even NAPTIP (the agency against human trafficking) to step in immediately and hold those involved accountable.
Many Nigerians are describing it as heartbreaking and deeply disturbing.
One user, #FemVitalHub, posted: “This is absolutely unacceptable. No child should ever be subjected to such humiliating, dehumanising treatment by her own peers. It points to serious failures in parenting, school supervision, and basic moral guidance.”
Others are demanding real consequences. “We need a proper juvenile justice system like every civilised country, so these kids can’t just walk away,” wrote #atakapapi.
“They need correction, and that can only happen in a correctional facility.”Another person put it bluntly: “All of them should go to prison for doing that to their fellow human being.”
On Facebook, reactions were just as strong. Wuese Daniel wrote, “It’s really unfortunate and shameless. How many worse things like this are happening unnoticed in our society? They recorded it probably to humiliate her more, but now it’s solid evidence against them.”
Emma Nuel added: “The school management must identify the culprits and hand them over for proper legal action. I strongly condemn this degrading treatment. Justice must be served.”
