Viral moment as Governor Makinde refuses to kiss his wife publicly at an event
Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has sparked widespread reactions online following his response to a public display of affection from his wife, Tamunominni Makinde, at a recent event.
The Governor and his wife attended a dinner and award night held on Wednesday, February 5, to commemorate Oyo State’s 50th anniversary.
In a video currently circulating on social media, Tamunominni, who was standing beside her husband as he sat, leaned in to give him a kiss.
However, the Governor appeared to pull away, seemingly rejecting the gesture.
In an apparent attempt to ease the awkward moment, his wife laughed it off, while other notable guests were seen in the background.
The clip has since generated mixed reactions online. While some users criticized the Governor’s response, others rushed to his defence.
One social media user commented, “He’s probably a shy man.” Another wrote, “Omg, why? I’m sending her hugs. This is horrible.”
