Vincenzo Montella appointed new Turkey national team’s head coach

Former Italian footballer and coach, Vincenzo Montella has been appointed as the new head coach of Turkey national team.

Montella’s appointment followed the dismissal of Stefan Kuntz, the team’s former manager, due to disappointing results during the recent international break.

Montella who boasts a rich footballing career both as a player and a coach, is expected to be officially introduced to the press next week Wednesday.

Reports suggest that the 49-year-old has signed a three-year contract to lead the Turkish national squad.

The Italian football legend has an extensive coaching background, with experience managing various clubs over the past decade.

He began his managerial career with Catania in 2011 and has since led teams such as Fiorentina, Sampdoria, Milan, Sevilla, Fiorentina (for the second time), and most recently, Turkish side Adana Demirspor.

Montella’s tenure at Adana Demirspor saw him guide the team through 76 matches, securing 38 victories during his time in charge.

Montella has a strong track record and experience coaching both domestic and international football teams.

His career as a player also boasts impressive stints with clubs like Empoli, Genoa, Sampdoria, Roma, and a short time at Fulham.
