VIDEO: Zlatan shuts down MC over “City Boy Movement” remark at MAPOLY award presentation

Afrobeats singer and rapper Zlatan Ibile has sparked reactions after correcting an MC who mentioned the “City Boy Movement” while presenting him with an award at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY).
The incident occurred during the award presentation when the MC attempted to dedicate the recognition to the “City Boy Movement” before handing the microphone to the singer.

Without hesitation, Zlatan interrupted the presenter and made it clear that he was not comfortable with the statement.
Presenter: “This award is on behalf of the City Boy Movement.”
Zlatan: “Bro, I don’t understand what you’re saying. No be City Boy movement we come do for here.”
His response immediately drew loud cheers from the audience, with many applauding the rapper for redirecting the moment back to the purpose of the event.
The clip has since gone viral on social media, with Nigerians sharing mixed reactions over Zlatan’s response and whether the MC should have introduced a political slogan during the award presentation.
While some users praised the rapper for distancing the event from politics, others argued that the MC’s remark was merely a joke.
