Old threats resurface after fresh bloodshed

The attack, which reportedly occurred on Palm Sunday in Angwa Rukuba, left dozens dead and several others injured. Residents are still grappling with shock and fear.

As outrage spread, social media users began circulating earlier footage believed to contain threats issued by suspected bandits targeting the city.

In one of the widely shared clips, a voice, speaking in Hausa, issued a terrifying warning to residents of Jos.

translation: As the mouth opens, people of Jos, pack your things and leave Jos. I swear to God, the type of killings we are going to carry out in Jos, I swear to God, it has never happened in Nigeria.

I swear with the one that created me, any day we fall on the people of Jos, as the mouth opens, with the Hausa you people are speaking and hypocrisy.

You killed Fulani people during Sallah and came back and killed them. Cursed people of Jos, before we come for you guys, it is better you people fall inside the water and die.

And also to all the Igbos in the North, when we are done with Jos people we will come for you all. Pack your things and leave the North and go back to your villages.”
