“Veekee James can never tell a story without making it seem like she suffered” — Man

A social media debate has erupted following a viral video of popular fashion entrepreneur and influencer, Veekee James, where she emotionally shared her pregnancy journey and how she waited for years before conceiving.
The video, which has gained widespread attention online, shows Veekee James narrating her experience while expressing gratitude to God for answering her prayers.
Her emotional storytelling, however, has drawn mixed reactions, especially after an X (formerly Twitter) user criticised her approach.
Reacting to the video, a man wrote: “Veekee James can NEVER tell a story without making it seem like she suffered the most suffering ever to be suffered. And God delivered her. She’s so performative. Ugh.”
The comment quickly gained traction and sparked heated conversations across the platform.
Many users came to Veekee James’ defence, insisting that she has the right to tell her story in her own way.
Others, however, questioned whether her narration was excessive or insensitive to couples who have struggled with infertility for many years.

BreeSaidSo defended the influencer, writing: “I don’t get how is any of your business how she wishes to react and tell her story. Y’all always have something to say.”
Bolanle offered a more balanced take, stating: “My colleague and I had the conversation. Did she do too much? Is she suffering from main character syndrome? Must she talk? Was it a bit insensitive to those trying for years? She might be coming from a place of good intentions etc.”
Comfort took a firmer stance, adding: “When it reach your turn own story, do it as you like… but now it is her own story… y’all should shut up if you can’t congratulate and pass.”
Others felt uncomfortable with the timeline Veekee James described. Vee wrote: “I don’t know sha, but I found it somehow, like you literally just got married in 2024, the way she said tried for a year as if you must give birth immediately but God came through for her.”
Adaa shared experience: “My sister & her husband wanted to conceive same month they got married. Just 3 mnts later & any time there is a call 4 TTC mum’s in church, she was always first 2 rush out. Her husband used 2 be embarrassed. When she got , she didn’t allow us 2 rest. She just wanted to be a mum.”
Fayindet wrote: “I get you but I waited for 3 years and from the first year when it was wasn’t forthcoming I was scared and sad,I was like is this not how it sometimes tarries, something someone doesn’t have control over,Years flew by and it happened at the third year, Na who dey d shoe go know.
“So I understand if someone wants to give emotional testimony even if they ve only been trying for 6months, that thing can mess with your mind…I pray God remember all GTC(Going to Concieve) parents and bless them with their adorable.”
