Uzor Arukwe (born August 6, 1983) is a Nigerian actor who hails from Nkwerre, Imo State, in the country’s southeast. He is well-known for his film and theatre roles. He has been in a lot of films such as A Tribe Called Judah, Malaika, Head Over Bills, Momiwa, Love in Every Word, and many more.

Uzor Arukwe was born on August 6, 1983, in Imo State, Nigeria’s southeastern area. Mr. and Mrs. Arukwe are his parents, although their full names have not been revealed to the media.
Uzor may have grown up with siblings, but their identities have not been made public. He attended the Nigerian Navy Secondary School in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State in southern Nigeria. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Abia State University. Following his first degree, Arukwe relocated to Calabar, where he earned a master’s degree in business administration.
Uzor Arukwe’s acting career began with a love of storytelling and a desire to amuse others. He began acting in Nollywood films in the early 2000s, demonstrating his ability to play a wide range of characters, from romantic leads to humorous roles.
Despite his strong academic background, Arukwe discovered his actual calling: acting. He made his Bollywood debut with the 2014 film Unspoken Truth. His breakthrough part followed shortly after, in Sergeant Tutu, when he played Inspector Sam, and he gained widespread notoriety.
Arukwe made his Nollywood debut in 2014 with the film Unspoken Truth, but he rose to prominence with the part of Sergeant Tutu. His role as a private investigator in the 2019 film Code Wilo helped him gain more attention.
He garnered two nominations for ‘Best Actor in Comedy or Movie’ in the 2020 African Magic Viewers’ Choice Award for his parts in Smash and Size 12, and a nomination for ‘Best Actor’ in the 2021 Best of Nollywood Awards for his work in Yours. Regardless.

Controversy and Marriage
Uzor Arukwe has refuted rumours that he impregnated his colleague, Bamike Olawunmi, also known as Bambam, and warned those who propagated the rumours will face consequences.
The allegation spread on social media following Arukwe’s work with Bambam in the 2025 YouTube film ‘Love In Every Word’, which went viral shortly after its release. The online claims linked their on-screen roles to an alleged real-life affair, claiming that the actor caused a schism in her marriage to Teddy A.
Uzor reacted on his X page to take up legal actions about the accusations.
Uzor Arukwe is married to Barbra Arukwe. Barbra is currently the Head of Human Resources at Fitness and Sports Solutions Limited, a famous Nigerian corporation. Their union has been blessed with the birth of children, whose name has not been made public.
