US releases Jeffrey Epstein files containing sexual abuse allegations against Donald Trump

The United States Justice Department on Thursday released additional files connected to the investigation into late financier Jeffrey Epstein, including previously withheld FBI interview summaries that contain unverified allegations involving US President Donald Trump.

The documents include three FBI interview reports from 2019 with a woman who alleged that Epstein introduced her to Trump during the 1980s when she was between 13 and 15 years old as reported by Vanguard.

Allegations Contained in FBI Interview Reports

According to the FBI summaries, commonly referred to as “302 reports,” the woman claimed that Trump tried to force her to perform oral sex during an encounter that she said was arranged by Epstein.

She told investigators that she responded by biting Trump during the incident. The woman further alleged that Trump struck her and ordered that she be removed from the room.

The documents released by the Justice Department do not indicate whether investigators determined her account to be credible. Trump has denied any wrongdoing connected to the allegations.

Epstein’s Network and Continuing Scrutiny

Epstein died in federal custody in 2019 while awaiting trial on charges related to sex trafficking involving minors.

His case drew widespread attention due to his long-standing connections with influential figures in politics and business.

Since his death, the handling of records connected to the investigation has remained a source of political tension, with continued debate over how much information should be made public and the scope of his network.

The newly released files form part of a broader initiative ordered by Congress to make millions of pages of Epstein-related documents available to the public.

Justice Department officials said the records were originally left out of a major release of Epstein files earlier this year because they had been mistakenly labelled as duplicate documents during the review process.

The newly published materials include summaries from four FBI interviews with the woman conducted between July and October 2019, after Epstein’s arrest.

During those interviews, she alleged that Epstein had sexually abused her several times and that he arranged encounters between her and other men.

Woman Ends Contact With Investigators

In one of the later interviews, FBI agents asked the woman to provide more details about the alleged encounter involving Trump.

However, she declined to expand on the claim and eventually stopped communicating with investigators.

The Justice Department has warned that the Epstein files contain numerous unverified and sensational claims submitted by members of the public, especially after Epstein’s arrest.

White House Responds to Allegations

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt dismissed the claims in a statement.

These are completely baseless accusations, backed by zero credible evidence, from a sadly disturbed woman who has an extensive criminal history,” she said.

Leavitt added that the lack of action by the Justice Department during the administration of Joe Biden supported the view that there was no wrongdoing.

The total baselessness of these accusations is also supported by the obvious fact that Joe Biden’s department of justice knew about them for four years and did nothing with them — because they knew President Trump did absolutely nothing wrong,” she said.

Lawmakers Seek Answers Over Epstein Records

The latest document release comes amid renewed scrutiny over how the government has handled Epstein-related files.

Some critics have accused the Justice Department of withholding documents or heavily redacting information during earlier releases.

Democrats on the House Oversight Committee have launched an inquiry, arguing that certain records may have been improperly withheld.

This week, the committee voted to subpoena Attorney General Pam Bondi to testify about the department’s handling of the files. The move received support from several Republicans, reflecting bipartisan concern.

The committee’s top Democrat, Robert Garcia, noted that the Justice Department announced the latest batch of documents shortly after the vote.

This is after they took down 50k files with no explanation,” he wrote on X. “We are going to end this White House cover-up.”
