UCL: Osimhen to play without fans in Liverpool return leg after UEFA ban

Galatasaray will travel to Anfield without their supporters for their upcoming Champions League clash against Liverpool after UEFA imposed sanctions over crowd misconduct.
European football’s governing body confirmed that Galatasaray fans are banned from attending the away leg on 18 March following disturbances during the previous round against Juventus in Turin.
Supporters were found to have thrown objects and set off fireworks during the 25 February encounter.
UEFA confirm sanctions
Despite losing 3-2 on the night in Italy, Galatasaray advanced 7-5 on aggregate to reach the next stage.
However, UEFA ruled that the Turkish champions cannot sell tickets to away supporters for the Liverpool fixture and issued a €40,000 fine.

The decision means Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen and his teammates will be without travelling fan support at Anfield in what is expected to be a high-intensity European night.
Galatasaray to appeal
In an official statement, Galatasaray confirmed they intend to challenge the ruling. The club described the punishment as disproportionate and said an appeal process is underway.
The first leg will take place in Istanbul next Tuesday before the decisive return fixture at Anfield.
