Trump issues 48-hour Hormuz Strait ultimatum, threatens Iran power plants

United States President Donald Trump has warned of possible military action against Iran’s energy infrastructure if navigation is not restored at the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours.
The threat marks a sharp escalation in the ongoing US-Israeli conflict with Iran, now entering its fourth week. The waterway, a critical global oil route, has been effectively disrupted after Iran vowed to block access to what it described as “enemy ships,” triggering rising oil prices and global market instability.
Trump did not specify which power plants could be targeted but emphasized the urgency of reopening the route.
“If Iran doesn’t FULLY OPEN, WITHOUT THREAT, the Strait of Hormuz, within 48 HOURS from this exact point in time, the United States of America will hit and obliterate their various POWER PLANTS, STARTING WITH THE BIGGEST ONE FIRST…” he said.

In response, Iranian military officials warned that any attack on their energy infrastructure would be met with strikes on US-linked facilities across the region.
The latest developments come shortly after Trump signaled a possible de-escalation, stating that the US was close to achieving its objectives and considering winding down military operations.
However, the renewed threat suggests tensions remain high, with both sides maintaining aggressive postures.
