Troost-Ekong, Lookman, Iwobi, others gift Super Falcons N24m for WAFCON title

Six Super Eagles players have collectively donated N24 million to the Super Falcons in recognition of their title win at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The contributors include captain William Troost-Ekong, Ola Aina, Ademola Lookman, Alex Iwobi, Leon Balogun, and Joe Aribo.

The Falcons mounted a stunning comeback in the final, overturning a two-goal deficit to defeat hosts Morocco and secure a record-extending 10th WAFCON title on Saturday night.

Led by head coach Justine Madugu, the team returned to Nigeria on Monday to a wave of commendation.

In addition to the players’ gesture, the team has also received monetary rewards from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Nigerian Governors’ Forum.
