Transfer: Garnacho rejects Al Nassr move

Alejandro Garnacho has turned down an opportunity to join his idol Cristiano Ronaldo at Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr.

The Manchester United winger looks to remain in Europe amid a looming Old Trafford exit.

According to The Telegraph, the 21-year-old Argentine rejected the Saudi Pro League club’s offer despite their high-profile project and the chance to link up with Ronaldo.

Garnacho was one of five players omitted from United’s pre-season tour of the United States, with the club giving him the green light to explore a transfer.

Garnacho is among the outcasts manager Ruben Amorim is prepared to offload, and several clubs are monitoring the situation.

Chelsea remain interested, having been linked in January, and are reportedly considering a swap deal that would send Christopher Nkunku to United.

Meanwhile, Napoli are also in the frame, with club president Aurelio De Laurentiis publicly questioning why Garnacho’s potential has been stifled at Old Trafford.

Garnacho’s preference is to continue his development in a competitive European league, rather than make an early jump to the Middle East.
