Transfer: Aston Villa weigh move for Chelsea duo Garnacho, Jackson
Aston Villa are considering moves for Chelsea duo Alejandro Garnacho and Nicolas Jackson following the club’s record sale of Morgan Rogers, but are expected to sign only one of the two players this summer.
The Midlands club recently completed the sale of Rogers to Chelsea in a £117 million deal, strengthening their financial position ahead of the new Premier League season.
Villa have already signed Johan Manzambi and Joao Gomes during the current transfer window, with manager Unai Emery now targeting further signings in attack.
Aston Villa explore Chelsea options
According to reports, Villa have held discussions over a possible move for Garnacho, while they have also explored a permanent deal for Jackson.
Emery is understood to be a long-time admirer of the Senegal international, having handed him his senior breakthrough during their time together at Villarreal.
However, Villa are unlikely to pursue deals for both players.
Instead, the club is expected to prioritise either a winger or a striker depending on developments in the coming weeks.
Jackson could arrive if Villa strengthen other wide positions through alternative targets, while Garnacho remains one of several options being considered on the wing.
Emery reshapes attacking options
Villa continue to monitor West Ham United winger Crysencio Summerville and Paris Saint-Germain youngster Ibrahim Mbaye as alternative attacking targets.
A move for Jackson could also depend on Villa’s current striking options.
Ollie Watkins has attracted interest from Turkish side Fenerbahce, while the club are reportedly willing to listen to suitable offers for Tammy Abraham, although they are not actively seeking his departure.
Chelsea are believed to value Garnacho at £45 million for Premier League clubs and £40 million for overseas buyers.
Jackson, meanwhile, is reportedly valued at around £60 million, though Villa may attempt to negotiate a lower fee if formal talks progress.
The Senegal international spent last season on loan at Bayern Munich, where he registered 11 goals and four assists in 34 appearances.
Although Bayern had an option to make the move permanent under certain conditions, the Bundesliga champions decided against activating the clause, leaving Jackson’s future to be resolved during the current transfer window.
