Tottenham Hotspur considering permanent signing of Timo Werner

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly contemplating the permanent signing of Timo Werner from RB Leipzig, at the end of his loan deal.

The 28-year-old forward, on a six-month loan from Leipzig, has made strong impression with two goals and two assists in his first eight appearances for Spurs.

Tottenham reportedly holds an option to buy clause of €17 million in their agreement with Leipzig, which must be activated by the start of EURO 2024 at the latest.

However, if the release clause isn’t triggered, Werner is expected to depart Leipzig in the summer, as neither party sees a future together beyond this season.

Although under contract with Leipzig until 2026, Werner’s departure would still command a good fee for the club.

However, apart from Spurs, no other club has shown strong interest in signing him at the end of the campaign.
