Torreira ranks Osimhen above Kane, Vinicius, Haaland, others

Former Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira has named Victor Osimhen among the top three players in world football, placing him ahead of several global stars.
The Nigerian forward has been in outstanding form for Galatasaray since completing a €75 million move from Napoli last summer. He has recorded 19 goals and seven assists in 29 appearances this season, playing a central role in the club’s push for the Süper Lig title.
Torreira’s bold ranking
Speaking in a recent interview, Torreira placed Osimhen alongside Federico Valverde and Kylian Mbappé as the standout performers globally.
“Federico Valverde, Kylian Mbappé, and Victor Osimhen are currently the world’s best footballers,” he said.

The statement effectively puts Osimhen ahead of high-profile names such as Lamine Yamal, Harry Kane, Vinícius Júnior, and Erling Haaland.
Strong season fuels recognition
Osimhen’s impact has extended beyond domestic competition. Despite Galatasaray’s exit from the UEFA Champions League, the striker played a key role in their run to the Round of 16, marking a significant milestone for Turkish clubs in Europe.
His performances have reignited interest from top European sides, with Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Juventus reportedly monitoring his situation.
Transfer stance remains unclear
While speculation continues, a summer move is not straightforward. Osimhen remains a key figure in Istanbul and is currently one of the highest-paid players in the league.
For now, the focus remains on sustaining his form and leading Galatasaray’s title charge.
