Tinubu reacts to Anthony Joshua’s tragic accident in Ogun

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed sadness following news that world heavyweight boxing star Anthony Joshua was involved in a fatal car accident on Monday along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Makun, Ogun State.

The crash reportedly claimed the lives of two individuals, while Joshua sustained minor injuries.

Details of the Accident

Reports indicate that Joshua’s Lexus SUV collided with a stationary truck on the busy Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

While the exact circumstances are still under investigation, preliminary information suggests that excessive speed and wrongful overtaking may have contributed to the crash.

Authorities are currently examining the scene and speaking with witnesses to determine the full cause of the accident.

Casualties and Injuries

Although Joshua reportedly sustained only minor injuries, the accident claimed the lives of two people at the scene, highlighting the severity of the collision.

Personal Trainer Latz Among the Deceased

Adding to the tragedy, Joshua’s personal trainer, Latz, died in the accident barely 24 hours after arriving in Nigeria.

Three-division boxing world champion Badou Jack confirmed Latz’s passing on Instagram, expressing shock and mourning the loss.

Tinubu’s Message to Anthony Joshua

In reaction to the tragedy, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu sent a message of sympathy to Joshua.

He wrote:
