“Tinubu didn’t win 2023 election, Obi was actually the winner” – Babachir Lawal

Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal has openly stated that Peter Obi was the true winner of Nigeria’s 2023 presidential election.

In an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Tonight on Monday, Lawal expressed his firm belief that the Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi, won the election that eventually saw Bola Ahmed Tinubu declared as Nigeria’s 16th president.

Babachir Lawal, known for his criticism of the current administration, said;

“The result available to me at that time showed he didn’t win the election.”

He insisted that Tinubu did not legitimately win, claiming that election results were altered.

Addressing his personal conflict with President Tinubu, Lawal stated;

“The problem with Bola Tinubu is that he thinks I’m the one that offended him. I didn’t offend him, he offended me and he is full of himself, and he thinks that he now so-called president.”

When pressed about Tinubu’s offense, Lawal described him as “arrogant,” adding, “The guy has an arrogance that belies definitions.”

According to Lawal, their team closely monitored the election process, collected data from the field, and found discrepancies between those results and the official outcomes.
