Thomas Partey’s bail conditions set as he awaits trial

Former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, where his bail conditions were confirmed following multiple criminal charges.

Under the terms set by Chief Magistrate Paul Goldspring, Partey is prohibited from contacting any of the three women involved in the case.

He is also required to notify law enforcement of any permanent change of address or international travel.

During the hearing, the magistrate appeared to acknowledge that Partey had joined La Liga side Villarreal, stating: “I understand he’s no longer employed in this country and playing in Spain now.”

Partey, 32, is facing five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault, all involving three different women.

The offences allegedly occurred during his time as an Arsenal player.

The Ghana international left Arsenal at the end of June after his contract expired. His formal charges were brought just four days after his departure from the North London club.

Partey is scheduled to appear at the Old Bailey on September 2.
