‎According to him, a young man, whose identity wasn’t disclosed, gifted him a wristwatch valued at $2 million, alongside other expensive wristwatches.

‎”He said I want to make sacrifice and I said for God?. He said God told me to give them to you. If you some watches I have. This guy gave me expensive watches. If they see those watches, they would just faint”, The clergyman firmly stated.

Earlier, the clergyman sparked controversy with a sermon claiming Jesus Christ hated poverty and deliberately avoided associating with poor people.

He cited Jesus’ visits to wealthy individuals including Zacchaeus and Lazarus, arguing that Jesus never entered a poor person’s home, implying divine disapproval of poverty.

Furthermore, Ibiyeomie emphasized that Christ’s death and resurrection aimed to liberate believers from poverty, not just sin.

He urged Christians to reject poverty mentality, stating, “You can come poor, but you’re not permitted to remain poor” .

However, the sermon sparked debate, with netizens criticizing Ibiyeomie’s interpretation as a misrepresentation of Jesus’ teachings on humility and compassion.
