“The reality is that…” — Lady warns non-Muslim women dating Muslim men
A lady has sparked debate online after advising non-Muslim women dating Muslim men to ensure they are clear about their partners’ intentions, particularly regarding marriage.
In a viral video, she said women from different religious backgrounds could face difficulties if their Muslim partners were not genuinely considering marriage with them.

Lady shares warning
The woman advised non-Muslim women in relationships with Muslim men to ensure both partners have similar expectations about the future of their relationships.
“If you are a non-Muslim woman dating a Muslim man, make sure you guys are in the same page.
The reality is differently because a man will be dating you and do everything with you, do everything as in everything with you and when it’s time for him to get married, he will go and get married to his Muslim sister. Let me tell you something.”
She further claimed that some Muslim families may be unwilling to accept women from other religious backgrounds.
“The reality is that Muslim families hardly accept women from different religion. That is just a pure fact.”
Her comments have since generated mixed reactions, with social media users sharing different experiences and perspectives on interfaith relationships and marriage.
Nigerians react
Some commenters supported her position, while others criticised the generalisation and argued that relationships between Muslims and Christians vary from family to family.
Oscay, who identified as a Muslim man from Hausa background, said he had witnessed similar situations among people he knew.
“I am a muslim guy and hausa too. What she’s saying is totally true from my muslim hausa perspective. I’ve seen many of my friends dated non Muslims non of them ever had a single intention to marry them. I’ve dated a non Muslim too but never had a single marriage feelings for her.”
Another commenter, Demzzylade, said the issue should not necessarily be viewed strictly through the lens of religion.
“As a Christian it happens not just in religion, it’s called cheating he already has a woman he already wants to marry, will the woman he wants to marry come out of nowhere?”
Muhammed expressed concern about some of the behaviour described in the discussion, writing:
“It’s sad, they are not being good examples of what prophet Muhammad said.”
Other commenters, however, made broader claims about relationships between Muslim and Christian youths.
Ola wrote: “The Christian girls are fools na what do you expect when all they know is money 💰… Middlebelt girls to be precise have babies with Muslim men I know of this fact well.”
He later added: “I was expecting a Christian girl to give this unsolicited advice but it a shame… Na Muslim girl dey give them the brain 🧠 just imagine.”
Nano also criticised the conduct of some Muslim women in relationships with non-Muslim men, writing:
“Rubbish talk. Most Muslim ladies I’ve met were disvirgined by non-muslim men. These girls give it out for free even when they know they won’t end up with the guy. I just pity Muslim men who don’t ask these girls questions. You’ll luuurrrn.”
