“The first 3 years of our marriage were filled with lot of yelling” – Afolabi Brown opens up

Afolabi Brown, the husband of media personality Morayo Afolabi Brown, has opened up about the challenges they faced in the early years of their marriage, revealing that their relationship was filled with constant arguments.
Speaking during an appearance on his wife’s TV show, Afolabi disclosed that the first three years of their marriage were marked by frequent yelling, but everything changed after five years when he realised he could completely trust his wife.
According to him, he was fed the wrong advice by people who warned him not to be too soft with his wife, claiming she would take him for granted. However, his father stepped in and corrected his mindset.
“The first three years of my marriage, there used to be a lot of yelling. But after five years, I realised I could trust my wife with everything.
I was fed a lot of wrong information in the early years of my marriage. I was told not to be too soft for my wife or else I would be taken for granted. Thankfully, my dad was there to correct me,” he said.
Afolabi also spoke about why he and Morayo abstained from premarital sex, revealing that the decision was influenced by his mother-in-law, who pleaded with him to wait until after marriage and assured him that God would honour the sacrifice.
His revelation aligns with an earlier statement by Morayo Afolabi Brown, who previously disclosed that she and her husband did not have sex before marriage. She, however, noted that abstinence before marriage does not automatically guarantee a peaceful or successful union.
Morayo and Afolabi Brown got married in 2011, and their union has been blessed with four children—three daughters and a son.
