Terem Moffi breaks Porto drought in 3-1 win over Arouca

Terem Moffi marked his first goal for Porto after coming off the bench in a 3-1 Liga Portugal win over Arouca on Friday.

The 26-year-old, who joined Porto on loan from Nice in January, entered the game in the 62nd minute and capped a strong team performance with a late goal, sealing the club’s third consecutive victory.

Early control and response

Porto started aggressively, with youngster Oskar Pietuszewski opening the scoring seconds into the match.

However, Arouca equalised in the 70th minute through Nais Djouahra, making it 1-1.

The home side looked set to settle for a draw until substitute Seko Fofana won a late penalty, which William Gomes converted with a precise left-footed strike, restoring Porto’s lead at 2-1.

Moffi seals victory

In the closing seconds, Moffi combined with Gomes to finish a well-delivered cross, sliding home to secure the 3-1 win.

The victory extended Porto’s unbeaten home record to 12 league games and increased their lead at the top to four points over second-placed Sporting CP, with Benfica in third, 10 points adrift but with a game in hand.

Porto now turn their attention to the first leg of the Taça de Portugal semifinal against Sporting CP on Tuesday, having already faced the league rivals twice this season, with one win and one draw.
