Tems’ collaborations with Wizkid revived his career – Daniel Regha

Controversial Twitter personality, Daniel Regha, recently sparked a debate online by highlighting the influence of Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, on Wizkid’s music career.

Regha asserted that Tems played a significant role in reviving Wizkid’s dwindling career in his opinion.

Regha commended Tems’ impressive stage presence and performance whenever she joins Wizkid in performing their hit collaboration, “Essence.”

According to him, her command of the stage during these performances contributed greatly to Wizkid’s resurgence in the music industry.

He wrote;

“Tems only gets attention as a performer when she sings Essence. She’s a promising upcomer, & is also the main reason why Wizkid was able to revive his music career with the MIL album; But asides collabs, she literally has no hit song of her own. Hope she steps it up. No offense.”

The statement from Regha came shortly after the highly anticipated Essence Festival, where Tems and the Grammy-winning singer reunited on stage after a two-year hiatus.

Their electrifying performance further fueled discussions on the impact of their collaboration.

While acknowledging Tems as a talented up-and-coming artist with a promising career, Regha suggested that she needed to expand her repertoire and release hit songs of her own.

He expressed his belief that Tems’ collaborations, particularly with Wizkid on his “Made in Lagos” (MIL) album, had helped propel her to the spotlight.

However, Regha also noted that outside of these collaborations, Tems had yet to achieve a major hit of her own.
