Super Falcons beat Cameroon 3-1 in 2026 WAFCON warm-up

The Super Falcons of Nigeria on Tuesday, claimed a 3-1 win over Cameroon in their second pre 2026 WAFCON friendly.
Cameroon had edged the first meeting 1-0 in Yaoundé, but Nigeria delivered a far more clinical performance in the rematch. The hosts struck early to take the lead, momentarily unsettling the visitors.
Swift response before the break
Nigeria restored parity in the 32nd minute when Chiwendu Ihezuo powered home a header from a precise delivery by Rinsola Babajide.
From there, the game turned on its head, giving room for the Super Falcons to push on.
Just before halftime, Babajide turned scorer, reacting quickest in the box to put Nigeria 2-1 ahead heading into the interval.

Clinical finish seals statement win
The Super Falcons extended their advantage shortly after the hour mark. Michelle Alozie rose to meet a pinpoint cross from captain Rasheedat Ajibade, heading in to complete the turnaround and secure a 3-1 result.
With the double-header concluded, attention now shifts to the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco (17 March – 3 April).
Nigeria, 10-time champions, will compete in Group C alongside Zambia, Egypt and Malawi, opening their campaign against Malawi in Casablanca on 18 March.
Cameroon, runners-up in 2016, are drawn in Group D with Ghana, Mali and Cape Verde, and will begin their tournament against Mali in Fes.
For Nigeria, this win restores momentum and reinforces their status as genuine contenders heading into the continental showpiece.
