“Struggling is for single women, not married ones” – Lady blasts married women who beg online

A Nigerian lady has triggered reactions online after sharing a blunt opinion about women in relationships who still beg single women for financial help.
In a viral video on X (formerly Twitter) shared by @dammiedammie35, she expressed frustration over the number of messages she receives from married or attached women asking for money.
In her words, she said:
“Struggling is meant for single women only. If you are married, you’re engaged, you have a man, a boyfriend, whatever, and both of you claim each other, that word should not exist in your vocabulary.
Majority of the people that beg me, ‘Hello, please help me with some money, I haven’t eaten, me and my kids and husband are struggling,’ are either married women or women with a man.”
She questioned why some married women would turn to single women for assistance, particularly when, according to her, they often pressure singles about settling down.
The lady maintained that single women carry their burdens alone and therefore should not be the ones receiving financial requests from those who have partners.
“Are you not ashamed of yourself? You are coming to beg single women, and you are the same people that will go online and say, ‘Go and find a husband,’ she added.
Her comments sparked mixed reactions across social media. One user wrote, “Marriage is not a job. Some married women are suffering silently.” Another added, “She has a point. If you have a partner, why are you begging?”
While some applauded her boldness, others criticised her stance as insensitive, arguing that financial difficulties can affect anyone regardless of marital status.
