“Stop telling them to give you transport fare” – Lady advises, shares how women can start billing men
A Nigerian lady has sparked reactions on social media after sharing her opinion about how women should approach financial support from men in relationships.
In a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter), she advised women to stop asking men for small transport fares, suggesting that they should instead expect bigger gestures like flight bookings.
In her words, she said:
“As a girl, if you’re still collecting transport fare from men in 2026, that’s ghetto. Let him book your flight instead.”
She went on to explain that once a man is willing to spend on something big like a flight ticket, it becomes easier to request other things in the relationship.
According to her, women can then begin to make smaller requests for personal upkeep and lifestyle needs once the man has already shown willingness to spend.
“Then you can start with the small requests; nails, lashes, hair, and shopping. Normally he’ll do all that since he already paid for the flight,” she added.
She further explained that it would be difficult for the man to opt out because he would not want the money he spent on the flight to waste and would likely want to satisfy her requests.
Her statement has since triggered mixed reactions online, with some agreeing with her perspective while others criticised the advice as unrealistic and materialistic.
