“Stop complaining about xenophobia”— Man accuses Nigerians of drug crimes in South Africa

A heated debate has erupted online after a man accused Nigerians of contributing significantly to xenophobic tensions in South Africa through criminal activities, particularly drug trafficking and exploitation.

In a viral video circulating on social media, the man rejected claims that South Africans are inherently xenophobic, arguing instead that Nigerians living in the country have played a major role in provoking hostility against themselves.

Nigerians’ actions blamed for rising tensions

According to him, South Africans were originally focused on their own lives and did not invade Nigeria, but Nigerians migrated to South Africa and allegedly engaged in activities that harmed local communities.

He claimed that drug trafficking by Nigerians has affected South African youths, families, and even white South Africans, leading to widespread addiction and social decay.

The man further accused Nigerian religious leaders of hypocrisy, alleging that some pastors publicly run churches while secretly engaging in drug dealings. He noted that South Africans are among the biggest supporters of Nigerian-led churches in South Africa, yet are allegedly being exploited by those they financially support.

Man calls out criminality, hypocrisy in churches

In his words, “South Africans are in their own house minding their business. You left your country and came to sell drugs to their children, turned their fathers and mothers into junkies. Even white South Africans have become junkies because of the crimes we are committing against them.”

He added that blaming xenophobia without addressing these issues was dishonest and dangerous.

The remarks have since sparked intense reactions online, with users expressing a mix of agreement, outrage, and condemnation.
