Squad update: Chidozie Awaziem to replace Collins in Super Eagles’ international friendlies

Chidozie Awaziem has been called up to replace Jamilu Collins in the Super Eagles squad for their upcoming international friendlies.

The Super Eagles are bound for a double in Portugal in less than a week, where they will square it out with Saudi Arabia and Mozambique.

One of the team’s defenders Collins withdrew from the 25-man squad as confirmed by the Super Eagles on Monday, with no specific reason provided for his absence.

The left-back from Cardiff City is the third player to withdraw from the Super Eagles’ roster for these friendly matches.

Earlier, it was announced that Nottingham Forest duo Taiwo Awoniyi and Ola Aina would be sidelined due to injuries, with Tyronne Ebuehi and Umar Sadiq stepping in to fill their spots.

Meanwhile, the Super Eagles will face Saudi Arabia on Friday, October 13, followed by a match against Mozambique on Monday, October 16. Both friendlies will be held in Portugal.
