“So Mirabel, you lied to us” – Influencer Oju Babe calls her out, demands refund

An abroad-based Nigerian influencer Oju Babe has reacted angrily to Mirabel’s confession that her earlier assault claim was false.

In a video circulating online, Oju Babe accused Mirabel of deceiving the public and demanded accountability.

Demand for Justice for Falsely Accused Men

Oju Babe said Mirabel’s actions undermine real cases and affect innocent men who have been wrongly accused in the past.

She argued that there are men currently in prison around the world due to similar false allegations and insisted that Mirabel must face consequences.

According to her, the situation goes beyond personal disappointment and touches on justice for those she believes have suffered from false claims.

Call for Refund of Donations

She also alleged that Mirabel received financial support from sympathizers, including herself, after sharing the initial story.

Oju Babe demanded that all funds contributed be refunded.

She claimed some people sent large sums of money in support and insisted that contributors deserve their money back.

Real Victims May Be Affected

Oju Babe stated that false allegations can make it harder for genuine victims of abuse to come forward.

She described Mirabel’s actions as harmful to people who are truly going through traumatic experiences but struggle to be believed.

She added that consequences would serve as a warning to others who might consider fabricating similar stories.

In her words:

“So Mirabel, you lied to us. You lied to me. You confessed on a voice call to VDM saying you lied. Nobody grabbed you. You lied. You know what save you? You don’t give any picture. You don’t point fingers at anyone. Because a lot of men are in prison and kirikiri are locked up abroad in other countries because of behaviors like this. You confessed to taking alcohol, cutting yourself. You now woke up, typed message, sent it to yourself, planned everything. Now that you don cast, you are saying we should help you, that you lied. No, no, no, no. All those pages, all those go fund. There was collective contribution to help this girl. You need to come to the front, please. Refund everybody back their money. That’s one. Two, I don’t know which account, some of us sent N40,000, N200,000, N300,000 to help you. Refund our money, please. We cannot help you now. We’ll help you when you come out of kirikiri. This should be an example to other people, other girls, both home and abroad. If you’re trying to do something like this, trying to come up with a cooked-up lie story, you’re hallucinating.

You have insomnia, you cannot sleep. You put yourself on drugs. You now wake up and it’s like, ‘Shh, like this?’ Oh, you got to face the consequences, sis. I’m sorry. There’s people that are actually going through situations, and they are not getting justice. They cannot come out. They cannot speak. Now, you did a caricature of a situation that people are actually going through in real life. And you want us to just let you go, forgive you like that? No. We’ll forgive you when you come out of kirikiri. Because you must be used as an example. Justice for the male boys that are actually lied on, serving jail time right now. But you, Mirabel, you must apologize to everyone that you lied to. When you come out, we will see what we can do for your situation. We use you as a scapegoat so other girls will know not to even try this rubbish.”
