Single father emotional as daughter surprises him with his dream house after years of saving

A Gulf-based Kenyan lady, Wilkister, has melted many hearts after she surprised her single father with a beautiful new house in Kisumu.

In an exclusive interview with Kenya’s TUKO.co.ke, Wilkister shared the poignant story behind her decision to build the house for her father.

She disclosed that her father had moved to Voi, Kenya, at a young age, where he met and married a Tanzanian woman.

Wilkister, moved by the struggles her father endured to care for the family, decided to give back by providing him with a more comfortable living space.

“I decided to build the house because I wasn’t comfortable with the house we were living in. Dad struggled a lot to take care of us since we were little. My mom died when I was 5 years old, and dad was the only family I knew while growing up. I have seen all his struggles, and it was my prayer since I was little to do what I did,” Wilkister said.

Despite her father starting his life in Voi, Wilkister faced challenges affording land and construction in the coastal town.

Although he started his life in Voi, I could not afford to buy land and build the house in the coastal town so we decided to go back to Kisumu,” she said.

Consequently, they made the decision to return to Kisumu for the housing project. The devoted daughter dedicated two years to saving for and building the house, emphasizing that it was a two-bedroom residence constructed with every last coin she had.

I built the house alone since I am the breadwinner of the family,” Wilkister said.

The lady who worked as a chef expressed her gratitude to God for the success of the project and shared her father’s joy at the surprise.

Her father, overwhelmed with emotion, conveyed his appreciation.

“My daughter, you have earned me respect. I will not forget everything you have done for me. God bless you, my daughter,” the father said.
