“She’s too controlling” – Deeone reacts to Veekee James podcast shade, spills details about past affair
Controversial comedian, Deeone has reacted after fashion entrepreneur Veekee James mentioned him during a recent cooking podcast, a comment that quickly reignited conversations across social media.
The reaction followed what many viewers described as a subtle shade from Veekee James, where she suggested that intelligent people do not take the comedian seriously.
Speaking after the interview gained traction online, Deeone revealed that he and Veekee James had a relationship shortly after his return from Big Brother Naija in 2018.
According to him, he does not understand why Veekee James is coming for him, stressing that there is no bad blood between them.
However, he explained that their relationship did not last due to differences in personality.
The comedian described Veekee James as a good person but admitted he struggled with what he perceived as controlling behaviour.
“For me personally, I don’t like being controlled. There is no bad blood between us, and it’s not like I didn’t treat her well. What I’m saying is not new. People in the industry already know, even her husband, Mr Femi James, knows,” he said.
Deeone explained that he does not enjoy being told what to do or being sent on errands, noting that this became a major issue during their relationship.
He further stressed that he has long moved on and harbours no resentment, explaining that he only chose to address the matter publicly because Veekee James mentioned his name, which led to renewed public discussion.
Reactions online have been mixed since the revelation surfaced. While some social media users defended Veekee James, praising her success, composure and marriage, others accused Deeone of oversharing.
His supporters, however, argued that he had every right to clarify his side of the story since his name was brought into the conversation.
