“She’s not a witch” – Angela Okorie breaks silence following release, tender apology to Mercy Johnson

Nollywood singer and actress, Angela Okorie has tendered a deep public apology to her colleague, Mercy Johnson, following their recent controversy.
It could be recalled that on Wednesday, January 28, that Angela was arrested by the Nigeria Police Force Cybercrime Centre in Abuja at her residence over cybercrime allegations involving Mercy Johnson.
She was later released from the Suleja Correctional Centre in Niger State.
After promising to address the situation, the actress kept her word by releasing a video on her Instagram page where she profusely apologised to Mercy Johnson.
In the video, Angela admitted that she is not a perfect being, which was why she chose to apologise.
“I just want to apologise to you, if it’s just my words, I am deeply sorry. You’re not a witch; you aren’t what people are calling you. This is to say ‘I am sorry’,” she said.
She explained that she had heard several negative things about Mercy Johnson, fondly called MJ, and those stories influenced her feelings and actions toward the actress.
Angela also revealed that people were equally badmouthing her to Mercy Johnson, a situation she said contributed heavily to the chaos between them.
The actress stated that at this stage in her life, she wants no drama or fights and would rather focus on her business and personal growth.
According to her, she had already spoken to Mercy Johnson through another colleague and apologised privately, which Mercy Johnson accepted wholeheartedly.
The apology has sparked mixed reactions online.
While some praised Angela Okorie for taking responsibility and apologising publicly, others felt the damage had already been done.
With this public apology, many believe the long running tension between both actresses may finally be laid to rest.
