“She said her ex pays her ₦1m for…” – Man shares date experience that ended in sudden block

A Nigerian man has sparked conversation online after sharing how a date he went on with a lady suddenly ended after a discussion about money and dating standards.
According to him, he met the lady through a friend and they agreed to hang out the following day.
He said he drove all the way to Ologolo to see her, and while they were on their way out, the lady brought up a video he once posted about a girl who asked him to buy her a phone and later blocked him.
“She told me I shouldn’t blame the girl because that was her standard. Then she said for her, she can’t date a man who doesn’t give her money monthly. She even said her ex used to give her ₦1 million every month and that she cannot date someone who can’t do that,” he said.
The man said he was surprised and asked why she left the man if he was providing that kind of money.
According to him, she explained that she left because the man eventually stopped giving her the money.
He said he then asked her directly if that meant he was not her standard.
However, the conversation took another turn after he remembered something that had happened earlier in the house.
“Just about five minutes earlier, her neighbour had come to complain that she hadn’t paid her contribution for water and electricity. I even offered to pay it because it was something small to me.
So I asked her how her standard could be higher than mine when she couldn’t even afford water and electricity in her own house.”
The man said after he made the statement, the lady immediately said she didn’t feel like going out again and asked him to drop her.
To his surprise, when he got home, he realized that she had already blocked him.
