“She beats me in front of our children” — Bolt driver laments domestic violence from wife

A Bolt driver has opened up about enduring domestic violence from his wife, sharing how fear and financial pressure have forced him to remain in the marriage.

In a heartfelt confession, the man revealed that he often waits outside his home until midnight to ensure his wife has fallen asleep before returning, fearing violent reactions if he earns less than expected.

He explained:

“Sometimes I close work early. I’m supposed to go home around 7:00 or 7:30, but I’ll wait till 9:00. When I go home, I have to make my bed and go to sleep because if I return with less than 20,000 or 30,000 Naira, she will beat me. She even beats me in front of our children.”

The driver added that his wife humiliates him publicly, calling him “stupid” and “useless,” and has no shame in letting neighbours witness the abuse.

Despite this, he remains in the marriage, citing the need to protect his family and maintain peace.

According to him maybe if she had married a non quiet man she’ll love him but he can’t do anything as being quiet is his nature.
