“Shame became my helmet” – Lady shares her hilarious first time delivery experience

A lady has sparked reactions online after sharing her unexpected and hilarious experience in the labour ward.

The story was shared by Christine Rael Watawa on Facebook, where she recounted the drama surrounding her childbirth.

Arriving at the Labour Ward

Christine said that she arrived at the labour ward experiencing serious contractions but completely forgot that she needed to remove her dress before delivery began.

“I was having serious contractions when I arrived at the labour ward, but forgot that I needed to take off my dress before delivery commences.”

Nurse’s Stern Instructions

When the nurse came to check how far along she was, Christine was still fully clothed. The nurse was reportedly annoyed.

Mrembo, why are you still with your clothes, it’s like you are not even ready to have this child. I turned and lifted my clothes a bit and hung them a little above my before the nurse came back. Msichana muoga, it is your 🍑 I want to check and not your thighs. Hurry before my shift ends,” she stated.

Husband Wasn’t Around

Christine stated that she hesitated to comply because her husband had instructed her not to talk to anyone if he wasn’t present.

At the time, he had stepped out to buy something, leaving her to navigate the situation on her own.

“I told her that my husband has told me not to talk to anyone if he is not around .”

Facing Real Labour

Despite her initial reluctance, she removed her clothes when real labour intensified and wore the hospital gown

Christine wrote: “I still managed to remove my clothes and undies reluctantly and wore my dera… when real labour came in, I threw everything away and was walking around naked writhing in pain.”

She also revealed that a male doctor attended to her, adding to the embarrassment.

“Shame became my helmet. If you are in labor and still mentioning Jesus in English, there is nothing you can tell me. I prayed in Luo and promised God never to do that nonsense again.

God bless all mothers,” she added.
