Sesko vows to restore Man United glory with immediate impact

Benjamin Sesko has vowed to help Manchester United return to the summit of English football after completing a £74 million move from RB Leipzig.

The 21-year-old Slovenia international turned down an identical offer from Newcastle United to join the Red Devils, citing the club’s history, ambition, and the influence of new manager Ruben Amorim as decisive factors.

“It’s because of the club, it’s a historical club and an unbelievable one,” Sesko said.

“The team is great and getting better. It gives you energy to want to be part of it. Of course, the manager played a part too. He’s a great guy, a great coach, and it’s going to be exciting.”

Sesko believes United are in the midst of a resurgence. “We get better, connect, and grow step-by-step. It’s just a matter of time before we fly high again,” he added.

A long-time admirer of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Sesko hopes to replicate the instant impact the Swedish striker made at Old Trafford before injury curtailed his spell in 2017.
