“Sell everything…” — Man advises women whose husbands brought home 2nd wives
A Nigerian man has sparked debate online after advising married women to protect their financial interests in case their husbands decide to take another wife.
The man, whose video has now gone viral across social media platforms, urged women to be proactive about property ownership during marriage.
Man Urges Women to Protect Their Assets
In the widely shared clip, the speaker warned women not to make costly mistakes when purchasing properties with their husbands. He stressed that wives should ensure their names are included in agreements and receipts.
According to him, preparation is better than regret.
He said: “When you get married, and your husband went and bring another woman and said this is the woman his heart is beating for now, he wants to marry her, don’t argue.”
He continued: “Sell everything you built with that man and leave with the money. Let the new wife start building allover with him because your sweat is not for sale.”
‘After God, Be Smart’
The man strongly advised women to prioritise their security in marriage. He insisted that love alone is not enough without financial wisdom.
He said: “One of the biggest mistake a lot of women make is that when you marry a man, make sure your are smart, see, after God, hear this, after God, be smart, after God, look for what is your interest.”
He further stated: “If you’re with a man, you got married to him, the moment you got married to him, every property he buys, your name should be there, every car he buys, your name should be there.”
Warning Against Family Disputes
The speaker also addressed what often happens when a husband dies. He claimed some families attempt to take over properties, leaving widows and children stranded.
He said: “Because every wise man understands that when he marries a woman that he loves except he is a foolish man, the woman should have security.”
He added: “That’s why if the man dies, the foolish family members will come and say ehn, it’s out brother’s property, they will push away the woman, push away the children and make them stranded.”
The man concluded with a firm stance on polygamy after years of marriage.
He said: “If a man comes and say after 12 years of marriage that he has suddenly fell in love with another person, sale all you have built with him and leave with the money. Let them start all over again, it is what it is.”
The video has since generated mixed reactions, with many agreeing that women should secure their financial future, while others argue that marriage should not be treated as a business arrangement.
