“Ruth Kadiri told me that Mercy Johnson said she can’t be in same movie with me” – Doris Ogala
Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has made fresh claims against her colleague, Mercy Johnson, alleging that the star blocked her from featuring in a movie at the peak of her career.
She made this known while addressing the recent arrest of Angela Okorie.
Doris Ogala recounts encounter with Mercy Johnson
Ogala, while recounting events from 2012, claimed that she was informed by actress and filmmaker Ruth Kadiri that Mercy Johnson had refused to act in any film that included her.
According to Ogala, Kadiri allegedly told her that Mercy insisted she would not participate in the project if Ogala was cast and asked that the message be passed directly to her.
The actress said the revelation left her devastated, noting that she broke down in tears after hearing the claim. She added that the situation was so emotional that Ruth Kadiri’s mother had to pray for her at the time, reassuring her that she was not condemned.
Doris Ogala recalls calling Mercy Johnson
Ogala further alleged that she reacted by calling Mercy Johnson directly to confront her, an incident she described as heated. She claimed that since that confrontation in 2012, she and Mercy Johnson have never met face-to-face again, except indirectly linked to later industry-related issues.
The actress also referenced the more recent controversy involving Regina Daniels’ brother, Sammy, stating that it marked the first major point of public attention connected to the long-standing rift.
As of the time of this report, Mercy Johnson and Ruth Kadiri have not publicly responded to Doris Ogala’s claims.

“In 2012, I was the hotcake in Lagos, shooting back to back from Asaba to Lagos. Kadiri wanted to use me in her movie. Ruth told me that Mercy told her that if I was going to be in her movie, that she will not play the role. And that Mercy told her to tell me that. When Ruth told me that i started crying. It was even Ruth’s mom that started praying that God has not condemned you. At that point I collected her number and called her and called her names. Since that 2012 till Regina Daniels’ brother Sammy matter I and Mercy haven’t seen one on one.”
