Rodrygo to stay at Real Madrid as Premier League interest fizzles out

Rodrygo Goes is now expected to remain at Real Madrid this summer after reported Premier League interest failed to progress into a concrete bid.
The Brazilian forward had been at the centre of exit speculation following a reduced role during the FIFA Club World Cup, where Los Blancos were eliminated in the semi-finals after a 4-0 defeat to PSG.
This led to renewed discussions about his future, with Arsenal and Liverpool both linked with potential moves.
Arsenal were initially tipped to make a big-money offer, but the Gunners have since secured Swedish striker Viktor Gyokeres.
Meanwhile, Liverpool turned their focus to signing Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt and are reportedly preparing a record-breaking bid for Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, effectively ending their pursuit of Rodrygo.
Real Madrid had reportedly set a €75 million valuation for the 23-year-old, which proved a stumbling block for both Premier League clubs.
That price tag, combined with recent acquisitions by Arsenal and Liverpool, has closed the exit door for Rodrygo this summer.
Despite his diminished playing time, manager Xabi Alonso still views Rodrygo as a valuable squad member.
The winger’s stay could also become more critical amid lingering uncertainty surrounding Vinicius Junior’s contract renewal.
