Robert Lewandowski fires back at critics who ‘always say I’m old”

Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski has pushed back against criticism over his form and fitness, insisting he still has plenty to offer despite limited game time this season.
The Polish striker has not been Hansi Flick’s automatic starter, with Ferran Torres often preferred in the lineup. Yet, Lewandowski has already netted four La Liga goals, maintaining his influence in front of goal.
The 36-year-old acknowledges he will not feature as heavily as in previous years but maintains that his experience and conditioning still make him a key asset for both club and country.
“I still have a lot to give”
“I feel that I still have a lot to give,” Lewandowski told TVP Sport (via Sport). “People always try to find something about me to justify their opinions.

“They say I’m old, that I can’t run, that I don’t want to work, but that’s nonsense. Look at how much I run and the distances I cover. I know that at my age, playing fewer minutes can help me stay sharp throughout the season.
“I’m not a victim of my age. I feel great, even if I no longer expect to play 90 minutes every game.
“I see football differently now, but when I’m on the pitch, I can still handle it. Physically, I’m strong and continue to perform well in training. I haven’t faded, I’m still making an impact, and I know I have more to give.”
Barcelona tenure nearing it’s end?
Despite his commitment, reports suggest this could be Lewandowski’s final season at Barcelona.
His current contract expires in June 2026, but the club are reportedly unlikely to trigger an extension beyond next summer.
