“RCCG used my dad’s property for free for 15 years, then turned their back on him…” – Lady calls out RCCG

A Nigerian lady has called out the Redeemed Christian Church of God, sharing her family’s experience and accusing the church of taking advantage of her father’s generosity.

The story, shared by @D_goodybag on X (formerly Twitter), has sparked reactions online as she detailed how the church allegedly used her father’s property for years without recognition.

Years of Free Property Use

The lady revealed that the church reportedly operated on her father’s property for about 15 years without paying rent.

According to her, her father also provided equipment and other support to ensure the church functioned smoothly during that period.

Hope of Becoming a Pastor

She explained that when it was time for her father to be considered for a pastoral position, things took a different turn.

The church allegedly said that his family members were not active members and, according to her, disregarded his years of support.

Sudden Change in Treatment

Following this, she claimed the church overlooked her father’s contributions and did not proceed with making him a pastor.

According to her, this left the family feeling used and unappreciated despite their sacrifices.

A Midnight Decision

In response to the situation, she recounted how she and her younger brother took action, removing the church’s belongings from the property in the middle of the night.

Claims of Entitlement

She further alleged that church leaders often encouraged members to contribute financially, especially when pastors needed support, while also benefiting from her father’s resources.

Sharing her thoughts, she said:

“RCCG stayed in my dad’s property for free, for good 15 years. Time to make him pastor, they realized his family are not members of the church & forgot the free property & equipments. One midnight, my younger brother & I brought out all their things. …It’s their way. When they asked him to go for pastors training He almost gave them the document of that property. Omo I thank God for Jesus.

So na him divine calling to give free church. Church members needs help, let us pray Pastor needs money, let us contribute. They were entitled to his resources…”
