The award-winning actor is from Anambra State in Nigeria and is one of the most well-known figures in Nigerian Nollywood. Ray Emodi was born on September 4, 1990, in Enugu but is originally from Anambra State. He is the son of Joy Emodi, Nigeria’s first female senator, who represented the Anambra North constituency in Anambra State.

His father, Okey Emodi, was a medical doctor. Ray Emodi’s enthusiasm for acting began when he was young, as he spent most of his time alone rehearsing while his siblings were at boarding school. Ray Emodi completed his primary and secondary schooling in Nigeria before going to the United Kingdom to pursue his acting career.

He studied Business Management and International Strategic Enterprise at Nottingham Trent University, where he graduated. Later, he moves to California to pursue an acting degree at the New York Film Academy.
