Rashford blames Manchester United for ‘difficulty’ finding consistent form
Barcelona forward Marcus Rashford has opened up on his recent struggles, claiming that Manchester United’s instability over the years has made it difficult for him to maintain consistency in field of play.
Once seen as the next great Old Trafford icon, Rashford’s development has taken a downturn in recent seasons.
After a decent loan spell at Aston Villa last year, the England international found himself sent out again, this time to LaLiga giants Barcelona, where he appears to have rediscovered some form and earned a recall to the national team.
‘I’ve been in an inconsistent environment’
Speaking during an interview with ITV, Rashford reflected on his form and the challenges he faced at United.
“I feel like I’ve been in an inconsistent environment for a very, very long time. So it’s even more difficult to be consistent,” he said.
“I think consistency is what I need to bring into my game. In order to be consistent, you need consistent variables in your life and in the way you train.”
Focus on stability and improvement
Rashford admitted that he is working to correct those issues and find stability, both professionally and personally.
“I have to look forward, and that’s definitely one of the things I want to put right and improve on, to be at my best more often,” he added.
The 27-year-old has been instrumental in England’s successful 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign, helping the Three Lions become the first European nation to book their place at next year’s tournament.
